six colour screenprint on tan Somerset paper
490 x 585 mm
edition of five
This image comes from a series of sketchbook drawings and monotypes. The tumbling forms are based on the idea of a cocoa pod. Its shape is pregnant with meaning and the substance produced by processing its seeds has a truly seductive quality. The roasting, grinding and blending of cocoa products is the stuff of alchemy, producing a magical ingredient that enriches human experience.
