In our waking life we are surrounded, some say bombarded, with images, logos and trademarks, signs and symbols of all types. With the digital age some assault our eyes for only seconds before they are replaced by others. Speed distorts our perception, leaving only ghost images of no substance, meshed and overlaid with diverse readings. In many ways we experience this visual overload in a similar way to dreaming. Rational thought is suspended or perplexed, interpretation difficult or impossible. There is a flux of ebb and flo that creates instinctual reaction but meaning escapes or defeats us. We forfeit conscious control over what we experience. Perhaps many images shimmer as pre-verbal signs, with a long history before language or memory, at the edges of our vision and consciousness. This print takes some devices I've reacted to in this way and combines them into a new 'found' image which is materially static but resists fixed interpretation.
